Cooking Your Way Into The Hearts Of Many

I'm not against baking your way into the hearts of others. In fact, I relish in baking my way into the hearts of others. And with Valentine's Day coming on up, what's a better way to show your love than a massive batch of home made cookies? Answer: there is no better way.

Recipe adapted from Martha Stewart:

What you need:

  • - 3 c old-fashioned rolled oats
  • - 1 c all-purpose flour
  • - 1 ts fine sea salt
  • - 1/4 ts baking soda
  • - 3/4 c unsalted butter, room temperature
  • - 1 c packed light brown sugar
  • - 1/2 c granulated sugar
  • - 1/4 c maple syrup
  • - 1 egg
  • - 1 1/2 ts vanilla extract
  • - 1 c chocolate chip cookies

What you do:

Preheat that oven to 350 F

In a large bow mix together your rolled oats, flour, salt and baking soda. Set that sucker aside.

In your mixer, cream your sugar and butter. Add egg, maple syrup and vanilla extract and mix, mix, mix.

Slowly add your dry ingredients to the wet. Fold in your chocolate chips.

It should look something like this:

The dough tastes amazing, not that I tried any or anything.

Use your scooper to create uniform little dough balls

Bake for 11 minutes. You have to rotate the cookies half way through so that they don't burn.

Let them cool and then watch them disappear!!!

Enjoy!
